Your Warren Evans bed from start to finish...
As soon as you've chosen your bed frame, the order is sent through to our Walthamstow workshop.
Forest Stewardship Council certified wood is then carefully selected and graded, and we begin the process of building your Warren Evans bed from scratch.
The wood is cut to size, according to careful patterns that let us get the most from it.
This helps us keep prices low, and to look after the environment at the same time.
Our joints are handmade; and in particular the traditional mortice and tenon joint is used due to its solidity and strength.
We find that traditional craftsmanship like this makes our beds last longer and feel better.
Then our wood is always carefully sanded by hand, which takes a little longer but ensures that the finish is really smooth to the touch.
Next, the wood is stained and first coat of laquer applied - again, by hand, and using new equipment that helps us cut down on nasty chemicals that do the environment no favours.
It's also more efficient and allows us to keep costs down and quality up.
After the first coat of lacquer, your bed is hand sanded, and then another coat of laquer is applied.
It's all done by hand in a workshop where we value individual input, not mass-manufactured boredom.
After the finish is fully applied, the bed frames receive a careful polishing.
It's this kind of attention to detail that makes us different from mass-production retailers, and we aim to control our quality all along the production process.
Mortice and tenon joints are made for the head and footboards, which are then fitted and the entire bed polished and cleaned once more.
It's now almost a complete bed frame, and our staff have got to this point in only a few days from start to finish.
Finally, your bed is stored ready for delivery.
That's the end result of a few days of attentive work from Warren Evans' skilled staff, in our own London workshops.
We have invested very heavily in our airy and spacious Walthamstow workshop, where all our beds and furniture are made.
Although everything is done by hand, we use the latest technology to minimise waste in both timber and lacquer. Our landfill is cut right down as well and the overall product is simply better made than you'll find elsewhere.
See for yourself how our calm and efficient new space helps us make better beds, at better prices, than anyone else.

What our customers say about us...
Dear Warren Evans I bought a bed from you about two years ago and I still love it. I have just read in the Big Issue that you support rehoused people by providing them with new beds too. just wanted to say that I am deeply impressed by this and am very pleased I made the choice to buy from you. I will certainly be recommending you to all my contacts, not just for the quality of your work, but also for your commitment to corporate social responsibility.
