the warren evans charitable policy
warren evans believes that everybody deserves a decent, healthy and safe place to live and sleep. we actively work to help achieve this by highlighting key issues and by donating our time, skills and energies to raise money for relevant charities.
we encourage everyone in our team to be socially and ethically aware. we are all committed to building an ethical business, and to keeping ethics and social responsibility at the heart of everything we do.
we strongly believe that we can have a positive impact on our employees (and their families), customers and society as a whole by enforcing sound ethical policies, working with charities and local communities. we want to give something back and support the needs of others in need.
staff at every level help raise money in support of the company’s green and ethical ethos.
charities that we are currently working with include:
the big issue foundation
shelter
fsc uk
trees for cities
bug life
we also support a broad cross section of local charities and good causes in the community.
as warren evans grows as a business, we can give back and do more for our employees, charities and local community causes. this is a fundamental part of our ethos and at the heart of what we do.

london to paris 2011 challenge
cycling may not be the fastest way to get to paris but it is eco-friendly and it is a challenge, and we at warren evans love a challenge. a team of 10 from warren evans have committed to cycling 230 miles to paris in 3 days, and this is the easy part. the real challenge is raising a minimum of £12,000.00 in sponsorship for our preferred charity the big issue foundation.
we fully support the work being done by the foundation and that is one of the reasons why we have made such a commitment. if you share our concern for the homless and you want to make a contribution please help us achieve our sponsorship target by making a personal donation
every little bit helps and thanks in advance on behalf of the w.e. team.

making our contribution
at warren evans our ethics and corporate social responsibility is not our duty but, a big part of who we are. this is why we take pride in supporting causes that we believe are making great contributions to the community and society as a whole.
on february 25th 2010, the warren evans team took part in tower 42 vertical rush challenge in aid of shelter the housing and homeless charity. we raised just over £3000 in sponsorship, which was part of the £250,000 raised overall.
everyone who participated was in high spirits on the ground floor and at the top those spirits took to the heavens, leaving weary breathless bodies (with a great sense of achievement) behind. but we all completed the run so congrats guys and gals. the average time to climb 920 steps is estimated at 15 minutes and team warren evans all did it in less. our very own joe bacon clocked a staggering 6 minutes 55 seconds which is up there with the fastest time so hats off to joe (and a the time to beat for vertical rush 2011). our managing director did it in less than 10 minutes which is also quite an achievement.
shelter was founded in england in 1966 by the reverend bruce kenrick, who was horrified by the state of the tenements round his notting hill parish. as slums proliferated in the inner cities, homeless families were forced into overcrowded hostels, and notorious landlords like peter rachman made the headlines, kenrick saw the need for a national campaigning body to complement the work of charities providing housing. shelter was born.
warren evans sponsors the 2010 e17 art trail

warren evans supported e17 art trail, a local community event in walthamstow.

“at warren evans, the local community in which we work is considered as part of our extended family, and we’re constantly looking for ways to lend support give something back. we moved our workshop to walthamstow in 2007, the new workshop provided us with an efficient and pleasant space to work and focus on what we do best, handmaking quality beds, and we’re very proud to be part of the borough.
“it’s got a fantastic cultural heritage, and has proved itself to be an artistic hub in london, with a great number of innovative and dynamic artists working and living here.”
